Questions

Good to know.

Everything people usually ask before booking — if it’s not here, just get in touch and ask.

What is a ceilidh?
If you’ve never been to one, you’re in for a treat. We call them barn dances too — a live band playing modern takes on traditional tunes, with our caller Dom talking everyone through each dance step by step. All ages and abilities join in, and you’ll swap partners throughout the evening, so you don’t need to bring one. Just wear comfy shoes.
Is a caller included?
Yes — Dom’s an experienced caller as well as a musician. He’ll talk you through every dance step by step, whether it’s your first ceilidh or your fiftieth.
Can anyone join in?
Absolutely — the more the merrier, no experience necessary. We start with something simple to warm everyone up, then build from there.
How long does a ceilidh last?
We’d suggest two 60-minute sets — around 5 to 6 dances each, with a break in between for everyone to grab a drink. If it’s part of a bigger day with other things going on, we’re happy to chat through timings to fit around your plans.
Do you bring your own PA?
Yes, fully PAT-tested. You just provide the space — we bring everything else, speeches mic included if you need it.
Are you insured?
Yes, we have Public Liability Insurance.
Can you play music during a break?
We can play recorded music through our PA during the break. We’re also happy to play without calling for part of the evening if you’d like — just let us know when you book, since it becomes part of the set rather than break-time filler.
Can you bring a bigger band for larger events?
Yes — for bigger events we can bring in other musicians we work with regularly. Get in touch and we’ll talk through what you need.
Can you play our first dance?
Yes — we sing as well as play, so first dance requests are no problem. Just let us know your song when you book.
How far will you travel?
It depends on availability and practicalities — drop us a message, let’s chat!
How much does it cost?
Ceilidhs start from £850 plus travel — see our Events page for what’s included, or get in touch for a personalised quote.
How does booking work?
Once we’ve checked availability and given you a quote, and you’ve decided to go ahead, we’ll send you a booking form and an invoice for a 30% deposit. The remaining fee is payable a minimum of 24 hours before the event — we usually send that invoice around a week in advance.
Still have a question?

Just ask.

We’d rather answer it now than leave you wondering — get in touch and we’ll get back to you.
